Flutterwave has a new identity
African FinTech Flutterwave has a new identity created by the dutch agency Verve. The illustrations are colorful and fresh, made by Miléna Bucholz, an illustrator and visual artist based in Paris.
According to TechCrunch, Flutterwave is currently the highest valued African startup, evaluated at $3 billion.
The logo of Flutterwave is a butterfly and it was later built on this idea. In the center of the visual system is lapalapa, which means butterfly in Yoruba, a language spoken in West Africa, also the official language in Nigeria. If you suffer from arachnophobia, don’t google that, because lapalapa also means spider in Indonesian. You’ve been warned!
The new-look is really a celebration of the African heritage, in an explosion of color and delicate movement. And the message was simplified, in an attempt to unite African people in the whole world.
The truth is that the FinTech sector needs a little bit of color and Verve alongside the Flutterwave team managed to take a step forward.
Founded in 2016 in Nigeria, Flutterwave has become Africa’s most valuable start-up. Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Olugbenga Agboola has plans of extending the company beyond the African borders, maybe expanding in the future in the Middle East, the Uk or the US.
