James Cropper launches paper dyed with natural ingredients
James Cropper launches paper dyed with natural ingredients. 100% recycled fiber and dyed with natural ingredients looks like a dream for the paper industry, but James Cropper turned it into reality.
To coincide with their partnership with the Wainwright Prize, James Cropper released a palette of papers inspired by the footsteps of famous Lake District walker Alfred Wainwright himself. Made with 100% recycled fiber and dyed with natural ingredients, the first two shades, Limestone and Herdwick Brown, are both derived from Rosemary extract.
Joanne Storey, R&D Programme Lead at James Cropper comments:
“It’s the first-time plant-based dyes have been used in modern papermaking; a breakthrough which marks the first step into the development of more natural color options. We are investigating botanical dyes extracted from a wide variety of origins including plants, shells, and fungi; and expect the range to expand significantly”.
The Wainwright Colours from Nature range is available from stock in 350gsm, ideal for presentation packaging, business stationery, and invitations. The natural dye technology can also be applied to bespoke projects through James Cropper’s Tailor Made service.
